Aquastiege water staircase in Tschagguns

A favourite destination is the Aquastiege Tschagguns water staircase, which with its 914 steps certainly poses a challenge, and is only recommended for those who are fit.

The starting point is the Gampadelswerk works in the parish of Zelfen. One takes the bus to Zelfen, getting off at the Haltestelle Birkenweg stop, and follows the instructions on the Aquastiege information board, to pass the works on the right.

A pipeline runs the length of the Aquastiege. The end point is a turnstile near the Bitschweil snack bar. After a pleasant break there is the option of going down the water trail in the opposite direction.
