Exceptional situations require exceptional measures.

In order that you can plan and book your winter holiday with us in the Montafon without any worries, many hosts offer the possibility of cancelling your booking free of charge under certain circumstances. You can recognise the participating establishments by the feature "Carefree booking". This offer is valid for bookings via montafon.at or direct bookings with the host.

For a stay until 31st October 2022, the cancellation conditions agreed at the time of booking apply in principle. However, no costs arise for the guest or for fellow travellers from the same household if:

an official segregation order has been issued for the day of arrival of the planned stay.
or the guest's home country has issued a travel warning urging against non-essential travel to our holiday region and, despite a negative officially recognised test, a legally prescribed quarantine applies on return*
or if the legal provisions stipulate a mandatory quarantine upon entry into Austria, which cannot be circumvented even by an officially recognised test
or the border is closed*
or the operation of all Montafon mountain railways has to be completely suspended due to a Corona-related decree*.

*Also applies pro rata if the event occurs during the stay.

A non-existent or incomplete 2G certificate does not constitute a free reason for cancellation. The legal provisions of the travel country apply. However, should the legal provisions change immediately before the start of the trip to the effect that there is demonstrably no possibility of obtaining a valid status for the travel country, "Book without worries" will come into force.
Free cancellation as part of "Carefree booking" only applies to immediately booked trips if one of the above measures occurs or applies at the time of the trip.
