The interactive play “On the Run” takes you on a though-provoking journey to the past. On the hike from Gargellen towards the Sarotlajoch, guided by Friedrich Juen, you’ll sense the fate of those people who had to experience the horrors of the Second World War first hand at different performance venues between Austria and Switzerland with the “teatro caprile”. The play is performed at the Hotel Madrisa, in alpine chalets and in open terrain.
The play is based on testimonies, historical documents and literary texts from Franz Werfel, Jura Soyfer and other writers who had to flee Nazi Germany. The emotional density and the analysis of the historical subject matter in the heart of the Rätikon mountains generates vivid images that tug on the minds of all participants.
The theatre hike won the Vorarlberg Tourism Innovation Prize in 2016 and was nominated for the Maecenas Prize in 2018.
