Arriving by train

Not a traffic jam in sight – make use of the train network’s offers and travel to your holiday destination in the Montafon quickly and in comfort.

Use the journey time to get in the mood for your holiday, spare yourself the hassle of looking for a car park and the additional costs that come with travelling by car. Trains run from Bludenz to and from the Montafon every 30 minutes (hourly in the evening).
The route planner for your country is the best way to find suitable connections from your home town. In Austria, you’ll find timetables and tickets on the ÖBB

Luggage service of ÖBB

Simple and straightforward

From Austria or Germany, you have the option of sending your luggage directly to your accommodation via the luggage transport service of ÖBB:

If you’re thinking about using this super service, you can also book your train connection directly with ÖBB, whichever country you’re arriving from (e.g. from Germany). This makes the booking much easier. 

To the Montafon (almost) without changing trains

International direct connections to Bludenz

Just one transfer in Bludenz and you’re on your way to your destination in the Montafon.

No matter whether you’re coming from Switzerland, Germany or Austria, there are many direct connections that will conveniently bring you to Bludenz and not only from Buchs, Lindau or Innsbruck. Simply use the following direct connections from:

  • Stuttgart, Mannheim, Frankfurt or Cologne
  • Zurich
  • Vienna, Graz or Linz
  • Amsterdam, Utrecht or Eindhoven
 

Tip Number 1: From Frankfurt direct to Vorarlberg – daily!

There is a direct connection from Frankfurt to Bludenz. With just one transfer in Bludenz, you’ll soon reach your accommodation in the Montafon. This daily ÖBB Railjet route even makes day trips from Frankfurt, Heidelberg or Stuttgart a possibility! Within the region, the regional train brings you from Bludenz to the municipalities of Schruns, Tschagguns, Vandans, Bartholomäberg, Lorüns, Stallehr and St. Anton in the Montafon. All other municipalities in the Montafon can be reached with an additional bus journey (By bus to your accommodation).

Out and about in the valley by bus

The Montafon has a well developed bus network. You can find timetables and tickets on vmobil.at or in the cleVVVer mobil timetable app. Various taxi companies additionally offer their services in the early morning and late evening. In the evening, you can also make use of the on-call shared taxi “go&ko”. Many of our accommodation providers also offer collection services.
Tip: The best thing is to inquire with your accommodation provider right away.
 

Landbus Montafon (also called Postbus)

The Landbus Montafon provides the Montafon with an efficient transport system that carries you quickly and safely around the valley. You can also find bus connections around the valley in the cleVVVer mobil timetable app

Tip: If you need a ticket for your bus or train journey, but don’t fancy spending ages flicking through timetables, simply download the FAIRTIQ app to your mobile, where you can always see and buy the cheapest available ticket for your journey.

Barrier-free travel around the Montafon

Enjoy your holiday without obstacles

Travel for people with restricted mobility by bus and train is possible across much of the Montafon. Please call Schruns train station in advance so that sufficient space can be reserved on the bus or train (T. +43 5556 9000 800). Both low-floor and high-floor buses are in operation. Various arrangements are available on the trains.
