St. Gallenkirch-Gortipohl in winter - High life and friendliness. 

Nestling in the fascinating Montafon mountain world are the two holiday resorts of St. Gallenkirch (900 m) and Gortipohl (950 m). The Silvretta Nova is one of the most beautiful and best developed ski areas in the Alps.

The "Versettla" and "Valisera" gondolas and the Doppelsessellift Garfrescha double chairlift transport winter sports enthusiasts quickly and comfortably to the ski region. There, 26 modern lifts and 114 km of excellently prepared piste await them, to provide an unforgettable winter experience.

The ski area lies largely at a height of between 1,600 and 2,300 m and, thanks to this high alpine location and modern snow-making machines, offers the guarantee of snow from December to April. For this reason too, a descent is possible down to the resort using the valley run which is maintained with artificial snow. The wide slopes at all levels of difficulty offer fun in the snow for everyone.

They extend from easy family runs via sunny and wide carving slopes to ski routes and slopes of deep virgin snow. The "Nova Park" has won several awards, and, with its 110 m half-pipe, jumps, kicks and rails, is one of the best and largest in Europe. Snowboarders at all levels can show off their abilities here. The nine mountain restaurants make a pleasant stop, and one can let oneself be spoilt with regional or international specialities.

For winter fun away from the pistes, there are the 5.5 km natural toboggan run, floodlit cross-country ski runs and winter hiking trails, guided snowshoe tours and much more.

St. Gallenkirch-Gortipohl in summer

St. Gallenkirch (900 m) and Gortipohl (950 m) have that bit extra, to make your holiday dreams come true. The unspoilt mountain world invites hiking and enjoyment. The beautifully maintained and marked tracks for walking and hiking lead through meadows that are full of flowers and shady forests, past typical Montafon houses and baroque churches to fantastic viewing points.

Most of Montafon's alpine farmsteads are in St. Gallenkirch and Gortipohl. These romantic and idyllic mountain settlements entice one to investigate the history of Montafon. Fields of aromatic herbs and fresh dairy produce await the hiker in the even higher alpine pastures. Numerous guided hikes bring these magnificent natural and cultivated landscapes even nearer.

Mountain bike paths that are full of variety and an extensive network of cycle tracks offer a versatile programme both for the family and also for discerning riders. In the evening there is the possibility of using the floodlit cycle track and walkers' paths. As in the rest of Montafon, in St. Gallenkirch and Gortipohl too one meets water in many guises: the impressive Balbierwasserfall waterfall with its barbecue area, the invigorating kneipp facilities and the unique all-weather Aquarena swimming pool are just some examples.

The health-giving effects of Montafon water can be experienced everywhere, with all one's senses. The wide range of options in St. Gallenkirch and Gortipohl is rounded off by the opportunity to take part in various mountain sports like climbing, canyoning or mountain biking, not to mention the wide-ranging free entertainment programme for children.
