The marathon

The supreme discipline

A breath-taking 42.195 kilometres and 1,250 vertical metres

The Montafon Raiffeisen Arlberg Marathon will start in St. Anton am Arlberg and end in the Silbertal in the Montafon for the third time. Far from roads with cars, we will be running along forest and hiking paths through the Nature 2000 area Verwall. After the start in the village centre of St. Anton am Arlberg, the route runs through the Verwalltal towards the Silbertal Winterjöchle. Upon arrival at the Langsee, you will cross the most beautiful scenic part of the border between Tyrol and Vorarlberg. Passing the Alpe Fresch and the Alpe Gafluna, the route leads out of the valley. You will be gaining significant altitude after passing the Fellimännle Chalet as you head towards Wasserstubenalpe and Wildried. There will only be a short amount of time for you to enjoy the beautiful panorama of the Rätikon, as the descent will again require your highest level of concentration.
