The Marathon

The supreme discipline

Breathtaking 42.195 kilometers and 1,500 vertical meters

The Raiffeisen Montafon Arlberg Marathon will start again in 2026 in Silbertal in Montafon and leads over the Winterjöchle pass to St. Anton am Arlberg. Far away from roads, you'll run along forest trails and hiking paths through the impressive nature in the Natura 2000 Verwall area – an alpine natural gem between Vorarlberg and Tyrol.

Starting at the fire station in Silbertal and looping around the village, the route leads past the Fellimännle alpine hut, the Alpe Gafluna, and on to the Alpe Fresch. At Lake Langsee, you'll cross arguably the most beautiful border between Vorarlberg and Tyrol before the expansive Verwall Valley opens up.

At this point it's time to gather your strength once again – the final climb along the Sattelwaldweg requires concentration and stamina, right before atmospheric welcome and boundless joy awaits you at the finish line in St. Anton am Arlberg.
