When will the 2027 World Championships take place in Montafon?

The FIS Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski World Championships will take place from March 6 to 21, 2027. Over 15 days of competition, a total of 31 medal events will be held in the Montafon.

Which disciplines are part of the 2027 World Championships in Montafon?

At the World Championships, the world’s best athletes will compete in numerous snowboard, freestyle, and freeski disciplines.

The program includes halfpipe, slopestyle, big air, snowboard cross, parallel giant slalom, and parallel slalom. It also features aerials, ski cross, moguls, and dual moguls, as well as several mixed-team events.

Can I go skiing in the Montafon during the 2027 World Championships?

A ski vacation just like any other. World-class action included.

Even during the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski World Championships from March 6 to 21, 2027, the Montafon remains a diverse vacation and ski region. The competitions will be concentrated on select courses and venues. The regular slopes and lifts will be available to you without restriction, just as usual.

And best of all: The World Championships will be a special highlight of your winter vacation. All sporting events on the mountain and in the valley, as well as the program centered around the Medal Plaza on Kirchplatz in Schruns, are free to attend. For events on the mountain, all you need is a valid mountain rail ticket. Regular season passes, multi-day passes, and day passes are accepted. Additionally, a separate World Championships pedestrian ticket valid throughout the entire Montafon region is available for EUR 29. This allows you to attend multiple events at different venues in a single day.

Do I need a ticket for the competitions?

No. All World Championships competitions and the supporting program at Kirchplatz in Schruns are open to the public.

For competitions on the mountain, all you need is a valid ski lift ticket for the round trip or for your day of skiing. All regular ski lift tickets are accepted. A separate admission ticket for the World Championships is not required.
