It's best to get around by public transportation
There will be a lot going on in the Montafon during the World Championships. To make it as easy as possible for you to get to the competitions, we recommend that you use public transportation.
Traveling to the Montafon by Train
You can reach Bludenz by train from various directions. From there, the Montafonerbahn takes you on to the Montafon region every half hour or every hour.

Getting Around by Bus and Train
In the Montafon, you can use public transportation to travel between towns and to the starting points for the competition venues.
During the World Championships, additional service or special transportation options may be available. You’ll find all the latest information here in a timely manner.
By Car
Most of the competition venues are located on the mountain. If you’re traveling by car, parking is available at the respective valley stations of the mountain railways. From there, take the mountain railway and, depending on the competition venue, continue on foot or on skis.
Since the World Championships take place during the regular ski season, there may be increased traffic and higher parking lot occupancy around the valley stations. To ensure a stress-free trip, we therefore recommend using public transportation.
From the valley up to the competition
This World Championship belongs in the mountains. That’s why many of the competition venues are located where the sport truly belongs: in the mountains.
Depending on the venue, the final leg of your journey will take you by mountain rail and then on foot or on skis to the event grounds. For some competitions, short hikes are just as much a part of the World Championships experience as the trip to the Montafon.
Be sure to allow plenty of time for this and check the specific access information for each competition venue before your visit.
On foot or on skis to the action
Not every competition venue is directly accessible by public transportation or a mountain railway. In some cases, you’ll have to cover the last few meters on foot. For select events, you can also reach the competition venue on skis.
This makes the journey itself part of the experience: out of the valley, into the wintry mountain landscape, and step by step closer to the competition.
Important: Check the local conditions in advance and choose your clothing, shoes, and gear accordingly.
