When sporting passion meets impressive mountain scenery, the result is an experience that will remain in your memory long after you reach the finish line. The Raiffeisen Montafon Arlberg Marathon takes you 42.195 kilometers and 1,500 meters of elevation gain from St. Anton am Arlberg in Tyrol over the Winterjöchle to Silbertal in Vorarlberg – past ancient mountain forests, rushing streams, and through the unique Natura 2000 area of Verwall.

Top athletic performances and a pure nature experience at the 23rd edition
On Saturday, June 27, 2026, the 23rd edition of the Raiffeisen Montafon Arlberg Marathon took place under sunny skies. Around 900 motivated runners, hiking enthusiasts, and young up-and-coming athletes turned the event into an impressive mountain sports experience.
The cross-border route through the Verwall Natura 2000 area once again showcased what makes this race so special: a breathtaking natural landscape, challenging trails, and an electrifying atmosphere along the entire route, from Tyrol to Vorarlberg.

The classic marathon distance of 42.195 km and 1,250 m elevation gain (this year with a revised route and a distance of about 38 km) demanded everything from the participants - and rewarded them with unforgettable impressions between Silbertal and St. Anton.
