Snowshoe hike Gargellen

Set off on an exciting exploration of snow-covered Gargellen. In the highest mountain village in the Montafon, you’ll discover the breathtaking winter landscape of this border region whilst snowshoeing along untracked paths and climbing around 200 metres in altitude. Glistening snowfields, crystal-clear mountain air and the silence of nature surround you – ideal conditions for unwinding, recharging your batteries and consciously experiencing the mountain world.

Age limit: at least 6 years (minimum shoe size 36)

Arrival: Why not just leave your car behind? Our tours are timed to coincide with the bus timetable. You can reach the meeting point by public transport via the Gargellen Schafbergbahn bus stop (vmobil.at). If you’re travelling in your own car, free parking is available at the Gargellen Schafbergbahn valley station.

Equipment: 

• Sturdy, waterproof winter or hiking boots with a good tread
• Gaiters (if required)
• Several layers of warm sports clothing (ideally, the outermost layer should be water-repellent: hardshell jacket, winter hiking trousers/cross-country skiing trousers)
• Protection against the cold (hat/headband, thick and thin gloves)
• Sun protection (sunglasses and sun cream)
• Backpack with a warm drink and a snack, possibly a seat pad
• Hiking poles

Hint:

• No discount is available on snowshoes and poles brought by participants.
• The hike will go ahead whatever the weather. Should there be any changes, participants will be informed directly by the guide in good time.
• Maximum number of participants per group: 10 people
• The guides reserve the right to alter the programme if necessary due to factors such as poor conditions, avalanche risk, etc., or participants’ lack of fitness.
