Snowshoe hike to Partenen

Wearing wide-soled snowshoes, you’ll hike through the snow-covered landscape at the foot of the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe, whilst enjoying the tranquillity and vastness of the mountain world. Along the way, you’ll learn fascinating facts about the importance of the energy industry and water management in the valley, which have shaped life in the Montafon for generations. The highlight of this easy snowshoe hike is the ‘gespaltener Stein’, also known as the ‘Gufelste’ – a fascinating natural monument on the outskirts of Partenen.

Route: dependent on current weather and snow conditions

Duration: approx. 3 hours (pure walking: approx. 1.5-2 hours)

Arrival: Why not leave your car at home? Our tours are timed to coincide with the bus timetable. You can reach the meeting point by public transport via the Tafamuntbahn bus stop (vmobil.at). Due to limited parking, we recommend travelling by bus and train. If you do come by car, you can use the free car park at the Tafamuntbahn. Please note: The car parks at the Vermuntbahn are reserved for rail passengers.

Equipment: 

• Sturdy, waterproof winter or hiking boots with a good tread
• Gaiters (if required)
• Several layers of warm sports clothing (ideally, the outermost layer should be water-repellent: hardshell jacket, winter hiking trousers/cross-country skiing trousers)
• Protection against the cold (hat/headband, thick and thin gloves)
• Sun protection (sunglasses and sun cream)
• Backpack with a warm drink and a snack, possibly a seat pad
• Hiking poles

• The hike will proceed no matter what the weather. In case of any changes, the guests will be informed directly by the hiking guide in good time.
