Snowshoe hike to the Silvrettasee

You’ll experience the winter wonderland of the majestic Silvretta mountains up close on a snowshoe hike to Lake Silvretta. Early in the morning, the Vermuntbahn in Partenen will take you comfortably up the mountain. After an impressive ride on the tunnel bus, your snow adventure begins. Following a brief introduction, you’ll set off with your Montafon hiking guide on the tour to Lake Silvretta, located at over 2,000 meters above sea level, climbing about 250 meters in elevation along the way.

Route: depending on the weather and snow situation

Duration: approx. 5.5 hours (pure walking time: approx. 2.5 hours)

Age limit: at least 6 years (minimum shoe size 36)

Arrival: Why not just leave your car behind? Our tours are perfectly timed to coincide with the bus timetable. You can reach the meeting point by public transport via the Partenen Bergbahnen bus stop (vmobil.at). If you’re travelling in your own car, free parking is available at Partenen Bergbahnen.

Equipment: 

• Sturdy, waterproof winter or hiking boots with a good tread
• Gaiters (if required)
• Several layers of warm sports clothing (ideally, the outermost layer should be water-repellent: hardshell jacket, winter hiking trousers/cross-country skiing trousers)
• Protection against the cold (hat/headband, thick and thin gloves)
• Sun protection (sunglasses and sun cream)
• Backpack with a warm drink and a snack, possibly a seat pad
• Hiking poles

Hint: 

• No price reduction for bringing your own snowshoes and poles
• The hike will proceed no matter what the weather. In case of any changes, the participants will be informed directly by the hiking guide in good time.
• Max. number of participants per group: 10 people
• The hiking guides reserve the right to modify the itinerary if necessary due to factors such as poor conditions, avalanche danger, etc., or participants’ lack of physical fitness.
