You can save energy from the Douglass Hut to the Heinrich Hueter Hut. There is a route waiting for you where you will descend more than you ascend. Nevertheless, this stage is very varied. You move in a picturesque setting.
Your route starts at the Douglass Hut at the Lünersee. Already here you move in a picturesque, legendary setting around the Lünersee. Enjoy the view. The path leads you along the Lünersee. After a gentle ascent, you get a gigantic view into the Montafon and its mountain world. Keep looking to your left. There you can observe one of the most beautiful mountains of Montafon, the Zimba. The Zimba, also lovingly called the Montafoner Matterhorn due to its shape, literally towers over the Heinrich Hueter Hut, which is your goal. You have enough time during the descent to the Heinrich Hueter Hut to observe it from afar. Also keep your eyes directed towards Saulakopf and Saulajoch, which lie to your left. With some luck, you can observe chamois grazing here.
