Cross​-​country Charity Event at Kristberg in Silbertal

On Saturday, 7 Februrary 2026, a charitable cause is at stake on the Kristberg in Silbertal in the Montafon. Every kilometer run on the 11 km long panorama trail is covered by the Montafoner Kristbergbahn, the Panoramagasthof Kristberg - family Zudrell, the Silbertal snow sports school - family Meidl, the Silbertal community - mayor Thomas Zudrell - and carpemedia GbR- Werbekommunikation & Design in cash converted. All proceeds go to the social institution „Netz für Kinder“ (Network for Children).

“We have a beautiful panorama trail on the Kristberg that is freshly groomed every day. It is also important to us that we also do campaigns that support children in Vorarlberg." This idea resulted in the first "cross-country charity" in 2015, reports Jürgen Zudrell, the managing director of the Montafon Kristbergbahn.

“It’s all very easy: just show up and ski – no registration needed. Every kilometre skied between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm on the 11 km panoramic trail is worth € 3.00 to us! And of course, there’s no entry fee for this event!” adds the organiser.

All funds raised on Saturday, 7 February 2026, will be donated in full to the „Netz für Kinder“ (Network for Children) charity. “Because our youngest guests are especially close to our hearts,” says Jürgen Zudrell, who is looking forward to welcoming many participants.

Free rental equipment

If you don’t have your own cross-country gear or want to give skiing a try for the first time, you can borrow equipment free of charge (provided by the Silbertal snow sports school and Panoramagasthof Kristberg). Equipment can be picked up directly at the mountain station of the Montafoner Kristbergbahn – which is also the starting point of the 11 km panoramic trail. A heated changing room with lockers is available for all participants at the mountain station. There are also two waxing stations along the trail.

The nine previous charity events have already raised a total of € 79,338.50 in donations.
