St. Anton in the Montafon in Vorarlberg

At the entrance to the Montafon, the tranquil village of St. Anton lies in heavily forested surroundings.

As a starting point for diverse hikes and activities, there is a spectacular via ferrata high up between the two thundering waterfalls above the town centre for climbing lovers. After the vertical tour, animal lovers can discover a little paradise with organic, free-range eggs from happy hens and organic products from Montafon cattle on the flagship organic farm Gavadura.

Golm - Erlebnisberg in the Montafon

Fun and thrills for the whole family

Whether it’s a family descent or beginners’ lift, families with a passion for winter sports are particularly well taken care of in Golm thanks to a range of special offers. Children of various ages are not only superbly looked after there, but can also playfully learn the most important rules of the pistes at eleven interesting stations in the Golmi Wald forest. “Everything is very compact on the Golm. Parents can go skiing in a relaxed manner or enjoy the sun on the terrace and still keep an eye on their children,” says Hermann Wachter, Head of the Schneesportschule Golm, explaining the merits of the skiing area.

In the summer you can take the Golmerbahn to reach one of the most beautiful hiking areas in the Rätikon in just a few minutes, providing you with a superb panorama view. After extensive high-altitude hikes, Golmi’s Forschungspfad, Waldseilpark-Golm, Flying-Fox-Golm or a rapid journey on the Alpine-Coaster-Golm provide variety and thrills.

Did you know that...

the bewusstmontafon association promotes regional products along with farmers, restaurants and retail trade?

Alexandra Battlogg | © Montafon Tourismus GmbH, Schruns - Darko Todorovic

“Conventional livestock farming is not worth considering for us anymore.”

Gentle fighter

“The Montafon is a paradise for anyone who seeks out nature,” says Alexandra Battlogg. She helps make sure that it will be like this for a long time to come on the Biohof Gavadura in St. Anton. She is also delighted about the ever increasing number of like-minded people.

From the outset, the Battloggs have made the case for original Montafon cattle. Ten heifers reside on the farm along with 500 hens. Whatever nature offers on the farm in terms of primary products is refined on Gavadura. The range of products in the farm shop ranges from meat to multiple-award-winning brandy and spirits. Everything is carefully labelled and packaged – a very nice way to show respect and appreciation towards nature.
