Waterfall via ferrata in St​.​ Anton im Montafon

The Wasserfall via ferrata is situated just above the centre of St. Anton im Montafon. Although this via ferrata is considered easy to access, it should not be underestimated. The route features easy sections (difficulty level B/C) as well as two vertical and exposed key sections (difficulty level C/D). There is no emergency exit. The highlights include two suspension bridges over thundering waterfalls, fantastic views and a vertical rock face.

Meeting point: 09:15 or 13:45 at the via ferrata car park in St. Anton im Montafon (walk approx. 200 metres from the station along the road towards Bludenz)

Duration: approx. 2.5 hours (climbing time only: approx. 1.5 hours)

Getting there: Why not just leave your car behind? Our tours are timed to coincide with the bus timetable. You can reach the meeting point by public transport via the ‘Bahnhof St. Anton i. M.’ bus stop (vmobil.at). If you’re travelling in your own car, there are a limited number of free parking spaces available at the via ferrata car park.

Uncertain weather: In wet conditions or if the rock is wet (due to early morning rain), it is highly likely that the climb will not go ahead (risk of slipping) – in this case, your booking will be cancelled free of charge, but there will be no alternative date in addition to the regular dates.

Age limit: 14 years and over (minimum height approx. 1.40 metres)

Equipment:

• Closed-toe shoes with good grip soles 
• In cold weather, warm clothing (hat, gloves, etc.) is recommended

Notes:

• Participants must be physically active; some prior experience of via ferrata is recommended. 
• As it is not possible to turn back on a via ferrata, the mountain guide is obliged to refuse individual participants on the grounds of inadequate equipment or poor physical fitness. 
• Participants acknowledge that there is a residual risk involved in taking part in the programme. All liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Please ensure you have adequate accident and mountain rescue insurance.
