From Alp Nova, you go through the Nova Valley. After about an hour at Lake Seressee, you can already see the signpost to the Madrisella via ferrata on the rock. Best put on your climbing harness and helmet now to avoid danger from falling rocks at the entry. Now turn left and follow the cairns up the approximately 15 to 20 minute climb to the entry.
As a warm-up, there is immediately an almost vertical wall where stability and arm strength are required. After a short break, you climb the next wall until a highlight of the via ferrata appears – a resting bench in the middle of the rock where you can comfortably catch your breath and enjoy the view. Use this break well because after a short descent follows the most demanding part – the 150 meter vertical. With several meters of space under your feet, you climb up this wall. Follow the short ridge and head into the last wall of the via ferrata. After the last strenuous part, there is a traversing path and the last meters almost vertical up to the exit. After about 2.5 to 3 hours, the Madrisella via ferrata is completed.
Already at the exit, you are rewarded with a beautiful view. But after another five minutes’ walk, you reach the summit of the 2,466 meter high Madrisella peak and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view. Additionally, you get a proud look down on the course of the via ferrata. Now follows the descent over the Matschuner Joch down and through the Nova Valley back to Alp Nova.
