Europatreppe

What was once built as a supply route for the construction of the Silvretta reservoirs is now known as “Europe’s longest straight staircase.” With around 4,000 steps, 700 meters of elevation gain, and a gradient of up to 86%, the climb along the Vermuntbahn in Partenen is a special challenge.

Originally, the staircase served as a maintenance path for transporting materials to the power plant construction sites. Today, recreational athletes use this historic route for an impressive endurance workout. (Tour description)
