Angling and fishing in the Montafon
Experience fishing and nature in the Montafon
The stunning waters of the Montafon offer ideal conditions for relaxing by the water - set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop. Whether at the Illwerke reservoirs - Lünersee, Silvrettasee, and Kopssee - or at the popular “Roter Stein” quarry pond (also known as “Hosasee”): Anglers will find diverse fishing spots and authentic nature experiences here.
The Ill and Litz rivers, as well as Schwarzsee at Hochjoch, are also among the popular fishing areas in the Montafon. Day passes are available for the respective fishing areas and can in some cases be conveniently purchased online at hejfish.com.
Please note:
- Only one fishing permit may be purchased per day per fishing area.
- A maximum of 6 fish may be caught per day.
- In the Ill and Litz rivers, power plant operations may cause sudden flooding.
- Conservation areas and seasonal restrictions apply to certain areas.
Fishing seasons vary depending on the body of water. For more information on fishing permits, sales locations, and current regulations, please refer to the linked PDF or contact the respective fishing associations.
