This tour combines an alpine experience with a relatively gentle ascent. The path itself offers impressive views of the Montafon mountains even before you reach the ridge section, which offers spectacular vistas. With a bit of luck, you may spot ibex in their natural habitat along the way. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are essential. You’ll be rewarded with a stunning panorama of the Verwall, Silvretta and Rätikon ranges.

Meeting point: 09:30 am Grasjoch cable car valley station, St. Gallenkirch

Route: Hochalpila cable car mountain station - Wormser Hütte - Kreuzjoch - Zamangspitze summit - Zamangalpe - Grasjoch cable car mountain station

Duration: approx. 5.5 hours (pure walking time: approx. 3 hours)

Ascent and descent: ascent approx. 270 metres, descent approx. 700 metres

Refreshment stop: Grasjoch hut

Getting there: Why not leave your car behind? Our tours are timed to coincide with the bus timetable. You can reach the meeting point by public transport via the ‘Talstation Valisera Bahn’ bus stop (vmobil.at). If you’re travelling by car, free parking is available at the ‘Talstation Bergbahnen Silvretta Montafon’ car park in St. Gallenkirch.

Age limit: 10 years and over

Equipment:

Bring a backpack with food and drink as well as rain and sun protection
Hiking boots with treaded soles required

Note:

The tour will only take place in stable weather conditions; otherwise, the guide will decide on a suitable route on the spot
Dogs are not permitted on this tour
This walk is not suitable for pushchairs or handcarts
Participants must be physically fit, sure-footed and not prone to vertigo

Registration is binding. If you are still unable to take part at short notice, please cancel your booking by contacting Montafon Tourismus on +43 50 6686 or info@montafon.at so that someone else can take your place. Our hikes are organised by trained Montafon hiking guides.

Refund in case of cancellation by the customer: We ask for your understanding that a 5% cancellation fee will be retained in the event of cancellation of tours booked for a fee.

Important note: Our BergePLUS tours take place from 3 registered persons. The regular registration deadline is always the day before at 19:00. However, if the minimum number of 3 people has not been reached by 15:00 on the same day, the tour in question will be automatically cancelled and registration will no longer be possible. In this case, participants who have already booked will of course be informed by us. An exception to this rule is the children's programme - this takes place with one or more children.
