"MasiRati unterwegs"

It is only partly true—as is generally believed—that the Masiratis came into being under my hand a few years ago. In fact, their origins lie far, far back in the depths of time—or rather, when time itself had only just begun to exist… It is said that back then, the Divine Child chose the still-unformed lump of earth as his toy, and it served him well.

Slowly, the still-glowing planet took shape. The Divine Child named the molten rock “magma” and, as the Earth began to cool down more and more, subsequently named the solid rock “Masirati.”

Myriads of years later, it so happened that I unearthed one of them in the form of genuine Reiselberg sandstone from the Bregenzer Ach. As I held this finely polished chunk in my hands, I immediately sensed the dimensions of the figure yet to be created. Like a divine child wearing welding goggles, I then used that very stone, driftwood, metal, and the power of fire to create the first figure, which I named—quite logically—“Masi.”

So that “Masi” wouldn’t have to lead the life of an outsider, I gave him a companion named “Rati.” And so the “Masiratis” were born. But one thing was still missing: shoes. And ever since, they’ve been traveling—together with the latecomers “Olga” and “Helga”—who are, so to speak, their female counterparts…
