Naturraum​.​Verwall

Naturraum.Verwall takes you on a journey through the diverse natural and cultural landscape of the Verwall. The Verwall—derived from the Romansh “val bel,” meaning “beautiful valley”—is one of the three defining mountain ranges in the Montafon, alongside the Silvretta and the Rätikon. At the same time, “Verwall” refers to Vorarlberg’s largest European protected area in terms of area. In the interactive exhibition, visitors gain fascinating insights into the diversity of the local flora and fauna and the unique features of the Natura 2000 sites in the Montafon. Among them is the Wiegensee bog complex, one of the most significant bog landscapes in the Montafon.
