Tour description

A challenging road bike loop from Schruns through the Ganifertal Valley and past the Kops Reservoir into the Paznauntal Valley, continuing over the Arlberg Pass and through the Klostertal Valley back to the Montafon.

Starting at the Aktivpark Montafon, the tour takes you through Partenen and the Ganifertal valley—which is partly steep and largely traffic-free—to the Kops Reservoir, then over the Zeinisjoch Pass and on to Galtür, before you ride through the Paznaun Valley via Ischgl, Kappl, and See toward the Arlberg. Via St. Anton and St. Christoph, you’ll reach the Arlberg Pass, where a long descent begins through Stuben and the Kloster Valley, eventually taking you back to Schruns via Stallehr, Lorüns, St. Anton im Montafon, and Gantschier.

Important Information

The Silvretta High Alpine Road is expected to remain closed until summer 2030. This is due to several rockfalls and mudslides that have occurred since 2024, as well as the extensive construction and protective measures required as a result. Therefore, the road bike tour is currently only possible via the Ganifertal Valley.

Tips

The famous Arlberg Giro takes place on this route every year.
