No tractors, no machines, no high-tech. Just animals, traditional tools, wood, and stones. Up here at 1,739 meters above sea level, at the foot of the “Three Towers,” time seems to have stood still. But it hasn’t. Quite the opposite, in fact: The people who work up here during the summer months produce goods that are more popular and in greater demand today than ever before—and are even absolutely on trend.
• The Alpe Spora is located at 1,740 meters above sea level in the municipality of Tschagguns and is managed as an agricultural cooperative.
• It cultivates 268 ha of pastureland. The total area of the Alpe is 1,200 ha.
• The alp is home to dairy cows, suckler cows, calves, cattle, alpine pigs, horses, goats, and donkeys.
• From 85,000 kg of milk, Montafon Sura Kees, Montafon alpine butter, and Montafon alpine cheese are produced.
• You’re welcome to buy these products there and enjoy them at home.
• You can reach the alp on foot or by bike.
• A lovely place to stop for refreshments from early July through late August, with a great view of the Three Towers.
