Gantakopf circular trail – nature and climate in transition
The climate migration tour on the Gantakopf circular trail is a scenic, moderately difficult tour offering exciting insights into the mountain world of the Montafon. From the Garfrescha cable car, the trail climbs up to the Gantakopf with views of Silvretta, Rätikon and Verwall. The 9 km circular tour leads back to the starting point across flower-filled meadows and past the Alpe Nova.
Climate guide Lukas Rinnhofer will explain how climate change is affecting vegetation, alpine farming and habitats in the mountains.

Meeting point: 9:00 a.m. Talstation Garfrescha Bahn
Route: Bergstation Garfrescha Bahn – Gantakopf – Alp Nova– Bergstation Garfrescha Bahn
Duration: approx. 5 hours (pure walking time: approx. 3.5 hours)
Ascent and descent: approx. 492 metres
Refreshment stops: Alpe Nova, Garfrescha
Registration: by 7 p.m. the day before
Equipment: Weatherproof clothing Bring a rucksack with food and drinks as well as rain and sun protection (sunglasses, sun cream, etc.). At least ankle-high hiking boots with treaded soles.
Arrival:
Bus stop: Garfrescha Bahn, St. Gallenkirch
Free parking: at the Talstation Garfrescha Bahn.
Notes:
The tours can take place in any weather (except thunderstorms or heavy rain), and short-term route changes are possible (depending on the weather).
Dogs are not allowed on this tour.
The hike is not possible with prams or handcarts.
Participants must be physically active.
