Ernest Hemingway in the Montafon

Ernest Hemingway, who was still an unknown writer at the time, spent his winter vacations in 1924–25 and 1925–26 in the ski paradise of Montafon.
He always spent his vacations in Schruns, at the “Hotel Taube” with the Nels family, and stayed there for several months. Together with his wife Hadley, his friend Dos Passos, and, of course, Pauline, he went on a ski tour to the “Madlenerhaus.” He also stayed at the cozy “Rössle” in Gaschurn with the Kessler family.
