Training in the mountains has health benefits!
The "AMAS 2000 altitude study" investigated the effects of training at medium altitudes on health. It has been scientifically proven that vacations and training in the mountains mobilize the human body's energy. The benefits include the economization of the cardiovascular system, the improvement of blood sugar and blood lipid metabolism, positive neuro-psychological effects and much more.
Altitude training improves stamina and performance
These positive effects of the stimulating climate in the mountains can be further enhanced by physical activity. Top athletes have long made use of this effect through so-called "altitude training". A moderate oxygen deficiency of around 10 %, as occurs at "medium altitudes", is sufficient for training.

Schruns-Tschagguns
The pitches at 700 m above sea level
The soccer stadium in Schruns-Tschagguns was built in 1995 and is the largest sports facility in the Montafon valley. The facility consists of two natural grass pitches and one artificial pitch, playable from the beginning of March to the end of November. The excellent quality of the pitches has made the facility a popular venue for professional, amateur and youth training camps.
International soccer matches and tournaments, especially the annual "Alpine Trophy" youth tournament, are also held here.
The surrounding area
The soccer stadium is located right in the heart of Schruns-Tschagguns, the main town in the Montafon region. Surrounded by the magnificent mountain scenery of the Rätikon and the Verwall, the soccer facility is in the immediate vicinity of the Aktivpark Montafon, Vorarlberg's largest leisure park with a large outdoor adventure pool and tennis courts, the Vorarlberg School Sports Center, the world-famous and renowned Dr. Schenk Sports Clinic, as well as a 9-hole golf course and a ski jump facility.

Vandans
The pitches at 660 m above sea level
Some top teams such as Feyenoord Rotterdam, SCR Altach and Atromitos Athens have already visited the Vandans sports facility with its two grass pitches.
The surrounding area
Vandans is located at the beginning of the Montafon, surrounded by the mountain scenery of the Rätikon. The Golmerbahn cable car or the Rellstal hiking bus take you to the perfect starting points for wonderful hikes in just a few minutes.

Sports and leisure activities that perfectly complement a soccer training camp
Climbing gardens / via ferratas
The numerous climbing gardens and practice via ferratas in the valley as well as the challenging via ferratas in alpine terrain offer thrills and borderline experiences.
E-mountain biking
860 km of marked mountain bike routes, from easy bike trails to challenging tours with carrying passages, allow every biker to find a suitable stage.
Swimming
The Montafon has wonderful swimming facilities with views of the Alps.
Golf course
The 9-hole golf course , embedded in the charming surroundings and the magnificent mountain panorama, offers golfing fun of a special kind. There is also a well-kept 18-hole mini golf course in Gaschurn.
Trail running
Whether in the valley or on gentle alpine and high-altitude paths on the mountain up to 2000 m above sea level with fascinating panoramic views, this sport is an experience. Signposted route networks with altitude profiles and route signposting available!
