Legends and stories are an integral part of the life world of the Montafon people and have a high cultural value. Even today, there is a lively storytelling tradition here, which is actively maintained by the residents and continuously expanded with current content. Almost every prominent place in the valley has a story that is passed down from generation to generation. The path makes visible what function the stories have and which typical characters and settings repeatedly appear in them.

Drive on the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit and continue on the Montafonerstraße L188 to Schruns. From Schruns you reach Silbertal.

Just leave your car standing

The regional buses operate throughout the Montafon. The main lines run every half hour from Schruns train station.

Arrival by train to Montafon

From Bludenz station, the Montafonerbahn runs hourly (sometimes every half hour). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and from Bregenz.

Valley station of the Kristberg cable car (paid)

The small local circuit leads along the Litz to the valley end and to the open-air stage of the Montafon Legend Festival. From there, it goes above Silbertal through the shady forest with beautiful views of the village and the Kristberg back to the starting point. An idyllic path with benches, fountains, and places to rest.
