Klettergarten Tübinger Hütte

Just above the Tübinger Hütte, a diverse climbing area opens up for anyone looking to get out on the rock near the hut. In addition to the hut rock face, five of the previously developed “Zwerge” routes are accessible: Z1 through Z5. The offerings are complemented by a practice via ferrata on the opposite ridgeline.

The approach begins right behind the hut. Markings consisting of black triangles on white circles, as well as numerous cairns, show the way. After about 10 to 15 minutes, you’ll first reach Z1 on the left side of the trail, followed shortly afterward by the rock group Z2 through Z5, located slightly higher up. A distinctive rock slab serves as a landmark and a place to leave your backpack.

The individual boulders are equipped with safety chains, anchor points, and routes that are partially bolted. Depending on the area, you’ll find short climbing routes, bouldering spots, friction climbing, and opportunities to practice alpine techniques. Z1, with its “Winkelfels” satellite, is particularly versatile: here, you can combine friction climbing, bouldering, and crevasse rescue drills. The Hüttenfels and the “Zwerge” (Z3 and Z4) also offer several climbing routes, with the broad wall of Z4—standing about 10 meters high—being one of the more striking areas.
