Lorünser Wändle Climbing Wall

The Lorünser Wändle is a historic climbing area in the Verwall region that has been climbed since the 1970s. Thanks in large part to Beat Kammerlander’s impressive ascents, the rock face has earned a permanent place in Vorarlberg’s climbing history. Today, the area is primarily known for challenging sport climbing routes with high difficulty levels and is intended for experienced climbers with the appropriate technique, equipment, and self-assessment skills.

Access is permitted exclusively via the designated public trails. Parking is available in the public parking lots behind the Lorüns train station. It is important not to enter private property or unauthorized gravel areas and under no circumstances to cross the train tracks carelessly. Use of the climbing area requires considerate behavior to maintain good relations with the landowners.

Mountain Range: Verwall

Difficulty: 7–11, extremely difficult

Access: Shortly after crossing the Ill River, turn right over a railroad crossing. Follow the paved path for about 100 meters. At the start of the gravel path, keep left and cross the tracks again. On the cross-path, turn right until the end of the gravel path at the tunnel site; pass it and follow the path straight up along the prominent stone wall.
