Montafon Hut Route | Tübinger Hut to Gargellen
Tour description
A high-alpine stage of the Montafon Hut Circuit over the Mittelbergjöchli and the Vergaldner Jöchli, through the Vergaldnertal Valley to Gargellen.
This stage connects the Tübinger Hütte with Gargellen and leads through the high-alpine mountain landscape surrounding the Vergaldnertal. Crossing two mountain passes offers impressive views of the surrounding mountains.
The route includes two alpine passes: the Mittelbergjöchli and the Vergaldner Jöchli, both at 2,515 meters. The tour then continues through the Vergaldnertal valley to Gargellen.

From the Tübinger Hütte, the trail first takes you to the Mittelbergjöchli and then on to the Vergaldner Jöchli at 2,515 meters. From there, you descend into the Vergaldnertal valley and cross the valley all the way to Gargellen.

Getting to the Starting Point
The starting point for the tour is the Tübinger Hütte.
By public transportation:
The Montafon regional bus and the Montafonerbahn railway offer a convenient and flexible way to get around the valley. Trains and buses run regularly between the towns, every half hour or every hour depending on the route. You can find your ideal connection HERE. The nearest bus stop is Gaschurn Versettla Bahn. From there, the rest of the way to the Tübinger Hütte is on foot.
By car:
Take the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit, then follow Montafonerstraße L188 to Gaschurn. Parking is available at the Versettla Bahn valley station. For a multi-day tour, you also have the option of parking your car in the underground garage at the Löwen Hotel in Schruns. Alpine Trail: The trail may include safety ropes and footholds.
For this hike, we recommend sturdy footwear and appropriate alpine gear.
Tips
Due to high demand at the huts, we recommend that you reserve sleeping accommodations early and directly with the respective huts.
