Gaglaweg Silbertal

In the Montafon dialect, “Muntafuner Gaglaweg” means something like “Montafon Children’s Trail.” For your adventure, you’ll need the Gaglaweg backpack. You can rent one for a deposit at one of our tourist information offices or citizen service centers. Inside, you’ll find everything you need for your hike.
A unique puzzle awaits you on every Gaglaweg trail. Once you’ve solved it, you’ll receive a small gift. You can also purchase one of eleven Erna souvenir jars at a special price of €4.00. Each trail is dedicated to a different theme and takes you through the diverse landscape of the Montafon.

Starting Point
Montafoner Kristbergbahn Valley Station

Directions
From the Kristbergbahn valley station, you’ll first hike a short distance into the valley. After a few meters, turn right and cross the bridge over the Litz River. Immediately after the bridge, keep to the left and follow the walking path along the river into the valley until you reach the “Felsa” area.

There you’ll find the open-air stage of the Montafon Sagenfestspiele, where old myths and legends from the region are brought to life. Continue along the path until you reach a gate. Next to it, you’ll discover a wooden sculpture created by a world champion in forestry work using a chainsaw.

Continue hiking to the next signpost in the “Wüarri” area. There, turn right and follow the path toward the center of Silbertal. Passing over the Burgkopf, you’ll reach the lookout point at the protective dam and then return to the town center.

In the center, you’ll find the parish church on the left and the municipal office with the citizen service center on the right. The mining museum is also housed in the same building. Continue across the bridge and then keep to the right. After a few meters, you’ll reach the Kristbergbahn valley station again.

Getting to the Starting Point
The starting point for the tour is the valley station of the Montafon Kristbergbahn in Silbertal

By public transportation:
With the Landbus Montafon and the Montafonerbahn, you can get around the valley comfortably and flexibly. Trains and buses run regularly between the towns, every half hour or every hour depending on the route. You can find the right connection HERE. By car:
Take the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit. Then follow the Montafonerstraße L188 to Schruns. From there, continue along the Silbertalstraße into the Silbertal. Paid parking is available right at the Kristbergbahn valley station, the starting point of the tour.
