Gaglaweg St​.​ Anton im Montafon

In the Montafon dialect, “Muntafuner Gaglaweg” means something like “Montafon Children’s Trail.” For your adventure, you’ll need the Gaglaweg backpack. You can rent one for a deposit at one of our tourist information offices or citizen service centers. Inside, you’ll find everything you need for your hike.
A unique puzzle awaits you on every Gaglaweg trail. Once you’ve solved it, you’ll receive a small gift. You can also purchase one of eleven Erna souvenir jars at a special price of €4.00. Each trail is dedicated to a different theme and takes you through the diverse landscape of the Montafon.

Starting Point
St. Anton im Montafon via ferrata parking lot

Directions
From the via ferrata parking lot in St. Anton im Montafon, follow the hiking trail along the stream a few meters uphill. Then turn left and follow the road toward Lorüns.

Cross the road and continue straight ahead toward Gipsbruch. After the bridge at Tränenbächli, follow the trail via Lehmbühl and Prazalanz to the Almahüsli. Go above the Almahüsli, then follow the road back toward St. Anton im Montafon.

The trail leads you downhill to the right. Just before Montafonerstraße, turn left onto the footpath that runs parallel to the road and takes you back toward the municipal office. After a few minutes, you’ll reach the playground, which is a great spot for a break.

From the playground, follow the hiking trail along the stream to the right, heading down into the valley. Then walk a few more meters downhill on the sidewalk until you reach the via ferrata parking lot again—your starting point.

By public transportation:
With the Montafon regional bus and the Montafonerbahn, you can travel comfortably and flexibly throughout the valley. Trains and buses run regularly between the towns, every half hour or every hour depending on the route. You can find your connection HERE. Bus stop at the start/end of this tour: St. Anton im Montafon train station

By car:
Take the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit. Then follow the Montafonerstraße L188 to St. Anton im Montafon. Parking spaces are available at the hiking parking lot near the town center.
