Vier Barga path

The Montafon Alpine Mosaic showcases the scenic diversity of the Montafon region. Four thematic areas—Verwall, Silvretta, Rätikon, and the valley—illustrate how geology, nature, and the cultural landscape are interconnected.

Along 34 themed trails, you can discover the unique features of these diverse landscapes. Starting points, themes, and stories along the trails will continually offer you new perspectives on the Montafon.

Starting Point
Gaschurn, upper station of the Versettla Cable Car

Directions
From the Versettla Bahn mountain station, the trail leads you on relatively flat terrain to the Vier Barga lookout point. The farm road, which is suitable for strollers, heads toward the Burg ski lift and passes the two restored Barga huts.

Once you reach the viewpoint, you can enjoy the view of the valley head with the striking Vallüla and the Kops Reservoir. The trail then continues to the Nova Stoba mountain restaurant and back to the Versettla Cable Car mountain station.

Getting to the Starting Point
The starting point for the tour is the Versettla Bahn mountain station in Gaschurn. Please check the Versettla Bahn’s operating hours.

By public transportation:
The Montafon Landbus and the Montafonerbahn offer a convenient and flexible way to get around the valley. Trains and buses run regularly between the towns, every half hour or every hour depending on the route. You can find the right connection HERE. By car:
Take the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit, then follow the Montafoner Straße L188 to Gaschurn and the Versettla Bahn. Paid parking is available at the Versettla Bahn valley station.

We recommend hiking boots with good traction. Hiking poles can provide support if needed.
