Tour description
A challenging high-alpine hut hike over the Seelücke and the Plattenjoch, taking you through the impressive mountain landscape between the Saarbrücken and Tübingen huts.
The hike connects two high-alpine huts and leads over the Seelücke and the Plattenjoch through the border region between Austria and Switzerland. Along the way, you’ll alternate between rugged alpine landscapes and impressive views of the surrounding mountains.
The route is described as a glacier-free option and leads down the Swiss side toward Schottensee before you climb back up to the Tübinger Hut. The high-alpine surroundings and the crossings over the passes make this tour a challenging route connecting the two huts.

From the Saarbrücker Hut, follow the trail first over the Seelücke at 2,766 meters. The route then continues toward the Plattenjoch.
From the Plattenjoch, descend on the Swiss side to about 2,560 meters and continue hiking toward Schottensee. From there, follow the signs to the Tübinger Hütte.

The starting point for this tour is the Saarbrücker Hütte.
By public transportation:
The Montafon regional bus and the Montafonerbahn provide convenient and flexible travel throughout the valley. Trains and buses run regularly between the towns, every half hour or every hour, depending on the route. You can find the right connection HERE. The bus stop for the start of this tour is Partenen Bergbahnen Valley Station. From there, take the Vermuntbahn and then walk to the Saarbrücker Hütte.
By car:
Take the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit, then follow the Montafonerstraße L188 to Partenen. Parking is available at the Vermuntbahn valley station. From there, continue on foot to the Saarbrücker Hütte.
