Tourbeschreibung

A varied high mountain route in the Rätikon. With a breathtaking view, it goes over several passes to the Lünersee.

Approach

Coming from Bludenz on the B188, you must turn off at the intersection on the main road before Schruns towards Tschagguns and drive to Latschau.

The regional buses of Montafonerbahn operate throughout the Montafon. The main lines run hourly from Schruns station.

From Schruns station, you reach the Golmerbahn in Latschau with bus line 1. The stop is: "Golmerbahn".

For the return trip

With bus line 1, you get back from Latschau to Schruns station.

Arrival by train

From Bludenz station, the Montafonerbahn runs hourly (partly half-hourly). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and from Bregenz.

Parking

You can park for free in the large parking lot in front of the Golmer Bahn.

Directions

After the ascent with the Golmerbahn, the Rätikon circuit starts at the exit of the cable car and leads you towards Golmer Kreuzjoch (2,261 m) via the Golmer Joch (2,124 m) and the Latschätzkopf (2,219 m). From Kreuzjoch you go down to Hätaberger Joch (2,154 m), followed by a descent above the upper Zaluanda alp.

Here the path leads you further to the Swiss gate. Past the customs house, it goes to Verajoch and then down to the Lünersee. Shortly before the Lünersee, you pass the Alpe Lünersee and the path leads you right around the Lünersee to the Douglass Hut.

Equipment

Good, ankle-high hiking boots with a good profile, take enough food and drinks, hiking poles recommended.
