Mountain fair and Weisenblasen
Bartholomäberg | 25.08.2024 | su | 12:00 - 17:00 o’clock
Alpengasthaus Rellseck | Rellseck 1 | 6781 Bartholomäberg
The Montafoner Volksmusiktage traditionally end on the Rellseck. “D’Muntafuner Tanzbodamusig” first invited visitors to the Weisenblasen event here in 1991. Since then, wind instruments and hikers have followed this call every year on the last Sunday of August to the sunny balcony above Bartholomäberg, from where they let their sounds ring out across the valley. The family-like, three-day meeting of the friends of alpine music developed from this 20 years ago.
The Sunday begins with a solemn mountain mass in the field around the chapel of St. John. In “ZWEI-KLANG vom WALD”, Alwin Hammerer and Peppi Scheffknecht play alphorns as well as flugelhorn and tenor horn. This year they are supported by the “Kurpfälzer Alphornbläser” from Weinheim. On the edge of the Odenwald, they cultivate their love for the old shepherd’s instrument of the alpine dairymen with traditional literature. In SWR’s “Blechduell”, they could also be heard playing the polka, march and blues. Of course, all brass players are invited to bring their instruments with them again this year. Afterwards, the Stockhammer family invites everyone to the cosy “Hock” in the neighbouring Alpengasthof Rellseck.
