Obere Wasserstubenalpe

The Wasserstubenalpe is a typical Montafon alp that specializes in the art of making “Sura Kees.” The alpine herders welcome visits from hikers and mountain bikers and are happy to serve a hearty Brettljause with cheese, bacon, and a strong schnapps.

• The Obere Wasserstuben Alpe is located at 1,730 meters above sea level in the municipality of Silbertal and is operated as an agricultural cooperative.
• It manages 120 ha of pastureland.
• The alp is home to dairy cows, suckler cows, calves, cattle, and alpine pigs.
• Montafon Sura Kees and Montafon alpine butter are produced from 35,000 kg of milk.
