Kids on Ski Montafon
Small turns. Big winter fun.
The free ski-learning program for children ages three to five.
What does snow feel like under your very first pair of skis? How does cautious experimentation gradually turn into a confident turn? With KIDS ON SKI, children between the ages of three and five discover winter sports through play, with professional guidance and at their own pace.
In the winter of 2026/27, the initiative will be offered throughout the Montafon region. Together, local hosts, ski schools, mountain railways, specialty sports shops, and other partner businesses will help young snow enthusiasts get started in skiing with ease.
The KIDS ON SKI package combines lodging, ski lessons, equipment, and a ski pass into a single package. This means less organizational hassle for families and more time for children to focus on what really matters: trying new things, building confidence, and experiencing winter with all their senses.

The program is designed for children between the ages of three and five who want to learn to ski. The age at the time of the stay is what counts.
Does my child already need to know how to ski?

What services are included?
The KIDS ON SKI package includes:
- Accommodations
- Ski Lessons
- Ski Pass
- Ski equipment, including helmet
Is KIDS ON SKI really free?

During which weeks is the program offered?
KIDS ON SKI will be available during the 2026/27 winter season in the following calendar weeks: CW 51, CW 2, CW 3, CW 4, CW 9, CW 10, and CW 11 (*).

Does the entire stay have to be booked through a partner business?
Yes. The free services are tied to a KIDS ON SKI package offered by a participating partner business. It is not possible to book individual components separately.
How long does the ski lesson last?
The duration and exact schedule may vary depending on the ski school and location. You will receive the official course times directly from the ski school where you made your reservation.
Do I need a ski pass for my child?
Yes. Children need a valid ski pass. You can get one for free at the ticket counters of the respective ski lift upon presentation of proof of age.
What happens if my child doesn't want to take the class?
A new daily routine can be unfamiliar, especially for young children. The ski instructors work gently with the children. Whether a break, a later start, or withdrawal from the course is possible is arranged individually with the ski school. As a rule, no financial refund is provided for unused services.
Can siblings participate as well?
Siblings may participate provided they meet the age and eligibility requirements, a spot is available, and they are registered for KIDS ON SKI.
For older or younger children, the regular programs and prices of the respective ski school, mountain rail operator, and rental shop apply.
Are these services also free for parents or accompanying adults?
No. The subsidized offer applies exclusively to the participating child. Accommodations, ski passes, equipment, and other services for accompanying adults will be charged at the regular rate.
Can I book KIDS ON SKI even without accommodations?
No. The program is part of a package deal and cannot be booked separately from an overnight stay at a participating partner establishment.
What happens if you get sick?
In the event of illness, the booking and cancellation policies of the respective accommodation and the participating service providers apply. We recommend checking whether travel or cancellation insurance is advisable before making a reservation.
Does the class take place regardless of the weather?
Ski lessons generally take place even in wintry weather. However, in the event of strong winds, exceptional weather conditions, or for safety reasons, changes or cancellations may occur. The decision is made by the respective ski school or the responsible service partner.
Is participation guaranteed?
Space is limited. Participation is not guaranteed until it has been confirmed by the host business and the participating service partners. We recommend booking early.
